When it comes to installing artificial grass or in this case, a backyard putting green in Nashville, Tennessee, one of the questions we get is when should we install the surface?
During new construction we really want to come in almost last. So many times builders and contractors get ahead of themselves and ask us to come in before they are truly ready.
A few considerations for this, are mud and dirt and heavy traffic. We obviously do not want to be there until the exterior of the home is complete and most other subs are working on the inside. All hard scapes such as the little retaining wall in this backyard should be completed prior to our arrival.
From an irrigation standpoint, it is also best to not have lines running underneath the artificial grass area. Placing any heads or drip lines around the exterior makes for easy maintenance as well as proper spraying radiuses.
This particular remodel of a home in the Oak Hill neighborhood in Nashville worked out perfect. We were able to get in and out of this backyard before the driveway was complete and prior to the new irrigation system. Also night lighting came in after we installed the backyard putting green, making sure proper angles and illumination occurred not only on the Green itself but also the chipping tee.
We have methods of construction that allow for artificial grass to be installed at any point, but if you are in the middle of a construction project and are considering artificial grass, the earlier you get us involved the easier the entire process will be from design to coordination amongst other contractors to installation.
One extra benefit we have seen over the years when you have to have your children present during construction meetings or design meetings, they can be out back playing on the synthetic grass while you are finalizing details on the inside. A small benefit, but a benefit, none the less when it comes to synthetic turf in the backyard for new homes or remodel projects.
Let’s get started today on the perfect timing and process for your synthetic turf project.
