In 2015, Grass!365 was commissioned for a unique project by a local donor who was an alumnus of Austin’s Anderson High School, as were his sons. The donor’s vision was to provide the students with a special synthetic turf area for enjoyment.
The Grass!365 team meticulously installed thousands of feet of turf, ensuring the preservation of the local trees’ habitats and creating numerous gathering spots. Since then, the administrators report that these lawn areas have been a hit among students, used from the early morning arrivals through multiple lunch and passing periods, and at the end of each school day.
The school’s architecture, with its many overhangs, multiple stories, and surrounding trees, offers ample shade but makes natural grass growth impossible. Previously, this left students with only dirt and mud to socialize on. However, with our 60-ounce C Shape synthetic grass, this issue was resolved.
This week, we revisited the campus to assess the condition of the turf. Given Anderson High School’s student population exceeds 2,200, our installation faces daily challenges, but it’s holding up well.
