Grass!365 – Short Game Practice
Greens that Hold a Golf Shot
For more than a decade Grass!365 has been installing golf greens made from artificial turf. We use the term impact to distinguish between a simple turf putting green and our artificial golf surfaces that look and perform like natural grass. Unlike low-quality turf and golf green installations, our surfaces will hold a golf shot from 180 yards away. This technology and installation procedure yields great putting greens, but there is so much more to the story. On just about any property we have the ability to install a golf surface that is realistic but requires very little maintenance – not just artificial putting greens, but a golf green.
Golf Green Options
The size of the green will be determined by the property owner’s budget, area to work with and the length of the shot to be played into the golf green. Artificial putting greens are no different than natural grass, the size of the green must be proportionate to the length of the approach shot. The average golf green on the PGA Tour is 6,500 square feet. The average Grass!365 golf green normally ranges between 1,000 and 5,000 square feet.
Bunkers, tee boxes and grass bunkers also help make your golf green be the best practice and play area possible.
Golf Green Installation
Normally the installation of a golf green will take one week of good weather. The shaping of dirt to create undulations and slopes can add some time to the process. After the area is prepared with the correct challenges, a rock road base is installed to provide the golf green maximum stability over the life of the installation.
